2010 has been a crazy year full of new beginnings, sad endings, and many exciting things coming my way.
Here are the tops and bottoms of 2010
Bottoms:
1: Broke my collar bone in January and couldn't end my senior soccer season and couldnt participate in most of track season
2: Had to say goodbye to some good friends and relationships to where I wouldnt be able to see them everyday like in High School
3: I'm sure there were a lot more bottoms but mostly little things these are the only two bottoms I can think of right now!
Tops:
1: GRADUATED High School
2: Made the SMU Cross Country team
- this came with a ton more tops including participating in two travelling meets, decreasing my PR to 19:04, met a lot of amazing people on my team, and this had definantly the best experience I have ever experiences. Now in 2011 I will compete in Track for SMU so that hopefully be just as amazing. I never thought I would be a collegiate runner but now that I am its the best thing I could ever do alongside my college career
3: made a 4.0 my first semester in college
4: Made so many great friendships at SMU and got involved with a great small group
Here are some of the things I am looking forward to in 2011
1: Meeting more people and friends at SMU
2: Rushing and joining a sorority
3: Running indoor and outdoor track and hopefully competing well and continually decreasing my PR and getting better
4: Getting into the SMU business school hopefully at the end of 2011
New Years Resolutions of 2011
1. break 19 minutes in the 5k hopefully run in the lower 18:00's If I could run below 18:30 I will call that a major success but I believe this is a very doable goal
2. Continue to keep up my grades
Im sure there are much more but right now this is all I can think of
Now its time to ring in the new year with some friends :)

I still wish you the best with a...FORGET YOU!
What a crazy last couple of days, I did not expect to have this much fun over Christmas break but its my attitude that has changed since last time I have been home so it allows me to have much more fun! Im forgetting all the high school drama and hanging with those people that make me happy!
Thursday: This day contained double training. A 55 minute run with sprinting intervals. Then later a 15 minute run. Also Yesterday I went to the gym to lift since body weights are not very fun or effective in my opinion. Thursday night I hung out with Jessica and Katherine and went out for sushi! I love sushi now! My favorite are still the california roll but I still liked all the stuff they had me try
Friday: Daddy had surgery today on his hand, so I drove him to the hospital and waiting to take him home. Surgery went well and he is doing good recovering. He is recovering just like I did from my arm injury, like a Trooper. It must be the Wright blood in me for a high pain tolerance. I don't think I have a high pain tolerance in little things but when athletics are involved, nothing can stop me. I did not miss one practice all season from an injury and do not ever remember missing for an injury (besides my broken collar bone) in high school athletics. But i can be a whimp at times not guna lie. Then after surgery I went to dinner with Jessica and Katherine and her family. This family is lebanese so we went to a lebanese restaurant. I tried a lot of new food that I am not able to pronounce but it was all super good. I don't usually like hummus but this places kind was amazing. The food was super good and then we all did Green Apple Hookah! That is something I have never done before, it was fun. Definitely a social thing but it was still fun.
Saturday: Wake up and do my run. Then off to the grocery store with dad, I am cooking this week so i had to get some ingredients for the week! Then off to Allen Premium Outlets with mom for some Christmas shopping for my dad and brother. My mom found a lot for them, me not so much. Then it was off to Jamie and Stevens wedding. Jamie was my small group leader in middle school and the beginning of high school before she moved to Ecuador. Is it sad that now going to weddings its not about the food, cake, dancing, and all that other stuff; is it sad that the whole time I am looking for things I want and don't want in my wedding :) I know its a little preemptive since I do not have a boyfriend but who cares IM EXCITED. Ever since i think it was middle school when I was old enough to understand, I constantly pray for my future husband. Now that I am in the wedding spirit I will inform you of some of my wedding requirements!
1: Daddy/Daughter dance will be a really cool rendition/ combination of the two songs Wonderful Tonight and Butterfly Kisses. My daddy always used to give me butterfly kisses and sing Wonderful Tonight as it is his favorite song. Can't wait for this dance, but I bet my dad can wait.
2: I cant decide what our wedding song will be so requirement for the husband - pick the wedding song, with my approval of course.
3: We are going to have Cake LOADED with fruit on it because thats just me.
4. I am also thinking along with a alcohol bar we will have a fruit bar? I will be there the whole night because alcohol yah not my thing.
5: Other than those requirements I havn't thought much about it these other requirements are circumstantial oh yah including the husband part yah thats got to happen first. Here are some requirements for the boy:
1 - THIS CANNOT CHANGE - He must be a man pursuing Christ and encouraging me to do the same. I want my relationship to look like a relationship set out by Christ and I just found out this year what that actually looks like. Its hard to find but man once I find it, I will not let it go!
2 - I need a boy who can lead me. I can be a bit of a control freak at times, so I need a boy that I love and trust enough to be able to take the lead in the marriage, household, and father role.
3 - I need a boy that eats more than me. This may be a strange requirement but its true. Past relationships have showed me that I need someone who can eat more than me because it bothers me when they don't, haha. This shouldn't be too hard to find though.
4 - I need a boy to make me feel safe and loved. I also want a boy who keeps me on my toes, I get bored easily so gatta keep me interested! I also want a boy that I try to be better for and he tries to be better for me.
5 - Okay I could go on and on about what kinda boy I want but I shouldn't because its just going to make me way too excited. I have wedding fever after going to this wedding and it needs to go away because I AM NOT EVEN CLOSE to that point. I don't even have time for boys with my busy schedule so I should probably end this conversation. The last thing I will end on is the fact that I pray for my husband all the time that he is making decisions thinking of his future wife just as I am making decisions thinking about him. I hope he is as excited to meet me as I am to meet him!
Okay no more wedding talk. Time for bed. I have a long 85 minute run tomorrow and then out for hibachi with the family to celebrate my first semester of college. Then who knows the week is young :)
Oh and the title of the blog is from the song F*** you (I recommend the edited version, "Forget you") I love the tune its catchy - you should listen to it.

Its the most wonderful time of the year...
Okay so this morning I did hill workout's with jessica then off to the weight room for some strength training. Our coach has body weights set up for us to do but I would rather go to the weight room so it was nice to get back in the weight room after a week or two of not doing weights.
I just found out that I got a 4.0 for my first semester of college! This means I got all A's, not A- but A's which is a 93.0 and above in all five of my classes! Woohoo! I'm so excited about this for many reasons. One you have to have a 3.3 GPA for the business school. Two the sorority I want to join has an average 3.8 GPA so I'm above that! and Three Its just so much cooler to say you have a 4.0 in college than it was to say that in high school! Im pretty excited about this and its encouraging to know I can make that GPA next semester also hopefully. Also being so busy with cross country and track I was worried grades would be affected but it wasn't so thats awesome that I can do the sport I love and also keep my grades! Yay!
Okay now its finally time to put up the Christmas stuff in the Wright household so it feels a little bit more like Christmas around here!

What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.
Its quite a weird to have no homework that I have to do. Ever since starting middle school I always had reading or projects over christmas and summer break. And even this summer I had a summer reading book, so this winter break is the first time in a long time I have NO WORK TO DO!
Tuesday morning I woke up at 8am for about thirty minutes then went back to sleep until 10am!! Ahh that was much needed sleep! Then I went to arbor hills to do my workout. It is so hard to motivate myself to get out and do workout EVERYDAY without my team. My team would always push and encourage me and practicing with a group makes the run so much easier then when you have to do it alone. Today was rough having to do it alone but I did it. I had a 12 minute warm up, 3 by 10 minute intervals with 2 minutes rest in between. Then i had hill sprints. Then a 12 minute cool down. I also did some abs since i missed abs monday! Then I came home to eat lunch and take a little rest and down time but then it was back out for a 15 minute run in the afternoon. Oh how i dread two a days it seems to take up the whole day since you cant do much in between and then you have to shower twice, use up two pairs of clothes, and eat a healthy lunch so it doesnt mess up your stomach for the second workout. Its such a pain :(. I just started double runs for my two a days. I used to bike all cross country season for my second workout along with weights but now i'm starting to run to get more miles in to prepare for the 10k. Tomorrow I think I am going to work out with Jessica, a girl from high school so hopefully that will make workout easier since I will have someone else there with me even though we have different training schedules since she is a sprinter.
Then Tuesday I went to work at the day care. It was fun to see all the kids again, I felt loved because even kids that had no idea who I was acted like they had known me for years! I will work two more days in January. Its good to be making a little extra Christmas cash, but now I just need to find the gifts to use the cash on! I still have to shop for friends and my brother and dad. Mom is always the easiest because we have such similar tastes.
Tuesday dinner we had grilled chicken with salad and couscous. Yum! A simple/ original dinner but defiantly one of my favorites. Couscous is something new I am trying and I like it! I thought I would since I love pasta and rice. I keep trying new things to put in it like today I put some shrimp, mushrooms, and cilantro.
Now I am watching THE GRINCH! I have been wanting to watch this movie for so long and it is finally on TV! Such a classic. The title of this blog is a quote from the grinch.
Just Remember: Dont be a grinch this Christmas. Whether you are home for the holidays, have family in town, or are doing nothing at all. Make something out of the holiday season. Even if you are just relaxing at home enjoy relaxing and make the others around you feel happy by being around you. Isnt that the best gift anyways, the gift of happiness. I think so. "What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more." Christmas doesn't come from a store, its not the presents per say, its the laughter, and feeling of happiness you give to the person receiving the present. Fill this Christmas with good memories, happiness, and energy to get you through 2011. I know I need the energy part! I don't know how I am going to get though non-stop track and school, then training and work for summer break, then cross country and school again. Is it sad that I cant wait already for next Christmas break?

I AM DONE!
I am done with my first semester of college! I had two final exams one last thursday and one today (monday) but now I am done!
I came home on Thursday of last week actually and drove up for my last final. Thursday my dad picked me up from school and we went to Potbelly Sandwiches for lunch then off to the Childrens hospital to visit a family whose daughter was in ICU after a freak brain injury! To see that family made me and my dad feel extremely blessed that we never had to go the the Childrens hospital and blessed for our health! Thursday afternoon I went to my Dad's teams basketball game, it was different coming back to POP not as a student any longer, but its defiantly a good feeling!
On Friday some of my friends came out to my house and we decorated Christmas cookies and watched Christmas movies!

Yummy Christmas cookies!
Saturday I went to whole foods (AKA Best Store Ever - Tied with Central Market)
Then I went to brunch at a girls house on my team with some of my teammates. The rest of the day was filled with studying along with sunday. Sunday I had a Harsh 80minute run filled with cold, wind, and hurt foot! Not fun, hopefully the training for this week goes well and I can get up the motivation to complete it all because running is hard without my amazing team by my side :(
Sunday Night me and mom got some Christmas shopping done. We didn't find too much, but It was still nice to walk around.
Monday I woke up and did my workout. Then drove up to SMU to take my Philosophy final. After that I went to sprinkles with some girls to pick up our free cupcakes from the photo contest we won with Sprinkles cupcakes
Then I went to the bookstore to sell my books and make some money!
Now I am relaxing after a FIRST SEMESTER OF COLLEGE COMPLETED! YAY!! I will find out my grades wednesday so hopefully it went well!

So close to being Done!
I am so incredibly close to being done with my first semester of freshman year in college! It went by so fast! On saturday I did my workout with Laura P. Then I went to Einsteins and the Business library to write my 10 page philosophy paper. I found out though that I had to go home to watch Dallas while my parents went to Arkansas. So I went home, finished my paper and lots of homework on saturday.
Then on Sunday I baked pumpkin muffins for my friends! Then I ran 80 minutes (part of my training schedule for track) I ran 10.5 miles which is the longest I have ever gone. I am pretty sore from it though unfortunately. It finally got cold this weekend/week in Dallas which is a nice change to all the warm weather we have been getting, it feels more like Christmas when it is cold! I got back to SMU and went to Celebration of Lights. That is an SMU tradition where the school gets together on the lawn of Dallas Hall and sings Christmas Carols, the president reads the Christmas Story and they turn on the lights on the trees around Dallas Hall. I didnt get pictures because I forgot my camera, but all the lights and standing there with candles singing Christmas carols in the cold really made it feel like Christmas!
Monday was the last school day before finals! In English class we had to write an in class essay and my teacher brought the whole class chocolate chip cookies and brownies. She knows I dont like Chocolate and love fruit so she bought me a box of strawberries instead. I was so happy, I dont think she even understands how much that made my day! Then I had my last Philosophy class, finally I hated that class! I went to the library Monday night to make corrections to my philosophy paper and type my English final. Those two papers and two finals are all i have left for the semester so I am very close to being done! At the library I ran into two girls from my high school, that was pretty unexpected! Now I am watching elf in the lounge of the dorm
The plan for the rest of the week...
Tuesday: Track workout, study, errands, track workout number 2, then Laura P.'s going away dinner with the team!
Wednesday: Study for microeconomics final!
Thursday: 8am - Microeconomics final, then pack up and go home! woohoo!

It smells like track season!
Today was our LAST official practice of this semester! We ran 40 minutes and strides and abs and stretch! I am going to miss my team over the break though:( Especially I just found out Laura will not be back next semester and she will be greatly missed while she is in germany for a semester because she was the girl who kept me going on hard practices and the girl I tried to keep up with during meets! She was such a great runner to run with and I am going to miss her next semester!
Today we got our track schedules over the break. I will have to work hard to come back into track season ready to compete and be even better than cross country season. I will be getting up to 50 miles a week by the end of break! Crazy! But im so ready for it!
We also got our 2nd pair of running shoes (out of 4) for the year. And our second pair of spikes specifically for track! My spikes are awesome! I was so excited about them I took a picture! The shoes in the far left corner were my old cross country running shoes, and as you can see it was time for a new pair!

Its been a long time...
I know its been a long time since my last post but wow was I busy :)
Last week I was home all week for thanksgiving break and it was amazing! I loved being home, but it was hard to come back to finals...
Over thanksgiving break I hung out with some awesome friends, ate lots of amazing food, and spent time with the family!
On Wednesday I was able to catch up with old friends from high school! Me jessica, anne, and kat went to qdoba (which i hadnt had since our last off campus together) Then Wednesday night Chris came home!
Then on Thursday I was up bright and early to run the turkey trot! Chris drove me down there and there were tons of people with dogs, kids, etc. Two people even got married right before they ran the race (that is way too much of a love of running!) There were 40,000 people there so my start was slow. Overall though I ran 8 miles in about 57:00 minutes and averaged about 7:12 miles for each mile! It was preety good I just wanted to make it a good hard long run, but not over extend myself, I was pretty happy with my time. Then it was TURKEY TIME! I picked up three of my teammates from Norway and off we went to my house for Thanksgiving. Monika, Siljie, and Kristine came over for thanksgiving and it was lovely to hear about their lifestyle in Norway! Monika told me the next day that her stomach hurt from laughing so hard at thanksgiving! Im so happy I have a family that I can bring friends over to and have them be entertained, it makes me happy!
BLACK FRIDAY: So the family woke up and all went to do their workouts for the day. Dad and Chris went to the gym, mom did her knee exercises and tredmill, and I did my abs and bike! I feel like we are becoming such an athletic family! Just wait, by next summer I see the whole family doing a 5k together!

Then after that me and mom went SHOPPING! We went to target first and I found two pairs of jeans that actually fit me! Shocking I know! We also went shopping at grapevine mills mall on tuesday and we both found stuff there. Then we went to DSW and mom found these boots she has been looking forever for! Later that night we went to the mall and shopped also. We didnt get too much but we did get some good essentials. Next shopping extravaganza will be for christmas presents and then after that we have to shop for RUSH in January :)
Saturday we watched the Arkansas game and had people over for chili and ham and beans (AKA one of my favorite meals) It was fun to catch up with people! Sunday we went to church and then I studied for the rest of the day then went back to school! We also took Christmas card pictures!
Monday: Track practice started this morning, it didnt feel much different than cross country practice though, not yet at least.
Tuesday: Track practice was 2 sets of 12 minute hard runs. Since I am doing the 5k and 10k in track this season, I better get used to LONGGG intervals! Then tuesday afternoon we had weights! I like doing weights now because I can actually see a difference in how I look now! I actually have muscle its not just skin and bones anymore! yay! I even do extra weights at practice now, more than coach tells us to do! That must mean I like it! Tuesday night was our small groups Christmas party!
Wednesday: school, sleep, homework - typical day. Wednesday night though we had a rush meeting and found out everything we needed to know about rush week including what to wear and times and what to expect! Unfortunatly though I found out me and three other girls will miss the first indoor track meet because of rush...it could hurt our chances of qualifying for other meets. If we run in more meets the better chance we have to get a time that will allow us to qualify so missing the first meet (its two meets in two days actually) could hurt possible qualifying times. Coach casey seemed understanding, but the head coach, Coach Wellman was not happy! We just have to prove to him our priorities are track, not sorority! But that can and will be done!
Thursday: wow what a day! I went to track practice, which was a 55 minute run with sprints every 5 minutes. On our way back from the run, in the van, my ears started to itch. I just thought, I guess I havnt cleaned them out in a while. Then my arms started to itch really bad! I then thought I must have washed it in different detergent that i am allergic to. Then my arms started to break out into hives, which quickly spread to the rest of my body! By the time we got back to campus my body was covered head to toe in hives! I went straight to the trainer and he immediately gave me a bennedryl and sent me to the health center. By this point my coach said my face started to swell especially my eyes! I was kinda scared at this point because I hadn't eaten or ran somewhere different than I usually do! I went to the health center and the nurse had to watch me to make sure my throat didnt close up. They tried to determine what caused it, but we couldn't figure it out! Then I got a steroid shot in the butt and after an hour I was all better! Praise the Lord! Because that was painful, I had never been so uncomfortable in my life! But im all better now! I had a test today and had my last tuesday/ thursday classes of the semester. For the next week (until next thursday) my life will be consumed with studying, running, libraries, coffee, writing papers, and all the other fun stuff that comes before finals...yay! I dont know when I will update next definantly after next Thursday though because that is when 2 of my three finals will be done and all my papers will be turned in!
